A flipped classroom is where a teacher creates a lesson or takes a topic and allows for it to go outside of the classroom. The teacher can use a video or any other media so students can continue learning "outside " of the classroom. Students then use that newly learned knowledge to participate in a classroom discussion the next day.
The advantages of a flipped classroom is that the student will most likely learn a topic at a faster rate by watching a video or listening to audio rather than reading a text. Even if a student only gains a little understanding from the video or audio he or she can still participate in the classroom discussion.
